Living in Perdizes means apartment life in a west zone district run by the Lapa subprefecture, three Metrô stops from Avenida Paulista. QuintoAndar listed about 3,080 Perdizes apartments for rent on October 8, 2026.1 6 17

Where to stay in Perdizes when you arrive
A short-stay lease, called locação para temporada, runs for up to 90 days, furnished or not. The landlord may collect all rent and charges upfront and also ask for a guarantee. A furnished lease must list the furniture and its condition.48
A room in a shared apartment costs less. Perdizes rooms averaged R$1,573 (US$315) a month on Roomgo in October 2026, against R$1,010 (US$200) in Lapa, the cheapest area on Roomgo's list.28
São Paulo's Federal Police registers migrants at its NRE unit, Rua Hugo D'Antola 95 in Lapa de Baixo, from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Perdizes metro stations and commutes
Sumaré station, officially Santuário Nossa Senhora de Fátima-Sumaré, sits on the edge of Perdizes on Line 2-Green. The Vila Madalena terminus falls just inside the district. From both, Line 2 reaches Avenida Paulista with no change.3 5 6

Line 6-Orange and the Perdizes station
Line 6-Orange's first stretch opened on July 3, 2026, with six stations from João Paulo I to Perdizes. At opening it ran free on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in an assisted phase planned for 180 days. Check LinhaUni for current hours.9 10
The full line will add PUC-Cardoso de Almeida and FAAP-Pacaembu stations and links to Lines 1, 4 and 7. The state targeted 2027 for completion, though LinhaUni's site gave no date in October.9 10

Airport and intercity trips
Palmeiras-Barra Funda, the western end of Line 3, is where the Airport Express train to Guarulhos starts, for the same R$5.40 fare. The station also has one of the city's three long-distance bus terminals, with Tietê and Jabaquara. Use it for weekend trips from São Paulo.5 51 52
Is Perdizes safe?
Phone theft is the main risk the data show.
Crime is published by police precinct (DP), not by district. The 23rd DP covers about 79% of Perdizes plus Pompeia and Pacaembu, and the 7th DP (Lapa) covers the rest.42 43 46

July's total was mostly theft, 953 cases against 173 robberies. SSP, the state security department, said robberies there fell 20.32% from January to July. It calls neighborhood rankings like these inappropriate.45 46
On the Metrô and trains, phone thefts in January 2026 were highest in Barra Funda, with 159, ahead of Brás and Pinheiros.53

Things to do in Perdizes and daily life
Parks and culture
Parque da Água Branca, in the Barra Funda district of the same subprefecture, covers about 13.8 hectares (34 acres). It opens daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., has a playground, aquarium and aviaries, and charges no entry fee.1 29 30 31
Sesc runs a unit in Pompeia with its own Line 6 station, and many of its activities are free to all. Pools need the free Credencial Plena and a skin exam. The card is for commerce, services and tourism workers and their dependents.9 32 33 34
In neighboring Pacaembu, the Museu do Futebol inside the stadium charges R$25 (US$5) and is free on Tuesdays.2 35
Food, work and schools
Eating out costs more here. ABBT's 2025 survey put the average lunch at R$68.18 (US$14) in the zone covering Perdizes and Pinheiros, the highest of ten city zones. Its zone samples are small.36

Look elsewhere if
- You want to walk to Faria Lima. Faria Lima station sits in the Pinheiros district.
- You need Line 6 at rush hour now. Its assisted service began on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- You want a big park at your door. Moema holds Ibirapuera and Alto de Pinheiros holds Villa-Lobos.
- Rent is your main concern. Liberdade and Tatuapé averaged R$2,300 (US$460) and R$2,924 (US$590) on QuintoAndar in October 2026.
- You want bars on your doorstep. Vila Madalena sits in the Pinheiros subprefecture, whose city plan flags bar crowds spilling onto the streets.
Perdizes vs nearby neighborhoods
Vila Madalena starts just across the district line from its Line 2 station, which sits inside Perdizes. Toward Paulista, the Consolação district holds Higienópolis and two Line 2 stations.3 4
