The short answer

A Brasília budget starts with the home and the journey attached to it. These examples give you dated rent, internet, coworking and transport references. They do not settle groceries, health coverage or tuition. Keep the recurring commitments separate from application fees and housing collateral. When a publisher leaves a charge period unstated, ask for the bill rather than quietly turning it into a monthly expense.

Use explicit monthly rents as anchors, rather than combining every published housing number.
A school application fee is separate from tuition. Coworking and virtual-address plans are different products.

Keep the other housing figures visible

The Brasnil Asa Sul rent is US$842 (BRL 4,200), with its billing period unstated. Its condominium figure is US$148 (BRL 740) and property tax US$374 (BRL 1,867), also without periods. Ask for those three periods before using a monthly subtotal.⁶

The furnished DAL255 apartment in Sudoeste advertises US$481 (BRL 2,400) rent, US$89 (BRL 444) condominium and US$173 (BRL 862) property tax. The page leaves each period unstated. Its smaller furnished layout is useful context, but the missing periods still matter.¹¹

The comparison rate is Banco Central do Brasil's October 9, 2026 PTAX selling quote, BRL 4.98920 per US$1. Divide the local amount by that rate. A bank, card or transfer provider will apply its own rate and fees.²¹

Questions people ask

What is a realistic complete monthly budget?

It depends on the home, school, coverage and travel you choose. These reference prices omit groceries, household consumption, tuition and individualized care. Get those quotes before treating a total as complete.

Can I add every housing charge to monthly rent?

Only after confirming its period. The Brasnil and Daleprane ads leave several periods unstated. Coemi's tax header and bimonthly descriptions use different bases, so adding both would double count.

Does the EAB fee cover school tuition?

No. The application fee is US$110 (BRL 550) at the testing and committee-review stage. A waitlist application is free. Ask the school for tuition and other attendance costs.

Why are dollar amounts approximate comparisons?

They divide the published BRL figure by the October 9, 2026 PTAX selling rate of 4.98920. Small amounts and fares retain cents. Other amounts round to whole dollars. Transaction rates and fees differ.
