Brasília relocation guide
Healthcare in Brasília
Choose the care route before you need an urgent decision.

The short answer
Brasília gives you public hospital, primary care and private hospital leads, but they answer different needs. HRAN publishes a general medicine emergency service. Hospital de Base's own page contains a contradiction about that specialty. Santa Lúcia Sul is a private hospital with its own published services. Start with the type of care you need, then confirm the unit, appointment route and any insurance coverage.
- HRAN and Hospital de Base are public hospital leads. A routine primary care visit has a separate route.
- Santa Lúcia Sul lists adult and pediatric emergency services, without establishing your plan's coverage.
- Confirm today's staffing, appointment route and language arrangements with the unit.
Save the right hospital details
| Unit | Address and contact | Published scope |
|---|---|---|
| HRAN | SMHN Quadra 101 Bloco A, Área Especial, Asa Norte | SES DF lists 24-hour triaged emergency care, including general medicine, surgery, dentistry, obstetrics, ophthalmology, burns and plastic surgery. |
| Hospital de Base | SMHS Área Especial Quadra 101, Asa Sul. +55 61 3550 8900. | Public hospital, 24 hours. Scheduled outpatient care Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. |
| Hospital Santa Lúcia Sul | SHLS 716 Conjunto C, Asa Sul. +55 61 3445 0000. cac.hsl@gruposanta.com.br. | Private hospital listing adult and pediatric emergency, intensive care, maternity, imaging and outpatient services. |
Hospital de Base's emergency description says it does not offer clínica médica, or general medicine. A later generic table includes it. Confirm the appropriate service rather than assuming that table resolves the contradiction.1,
Identify the primary care lead for your home
| Unit | Address and contact | Registry shifts |
|---|---|---|
| UBS 1 Asa Norte | SGAN 905, Asa Norte. CSB11SAUDE@GMAIL.COM. | Morning and afternoon. |
| UBS 1 Asa Sul | SGAS Quadra 612, lots listed without a number. +55 61 3449 4806. gsap1asasul@gmail.com. | Morning, afternoon and evening. |
The Health Ministry's Technical Note 8/2024 says missing identification, CPF, a SUS card or residence proof must not block migrant primary care. Immigration status does not remove that access. Bring the records you have and ask the unit how it organizes your care.11
Check the exact policy and hospital network
Ask the insurer to name the covered hospital, specialty and procedure under your exact plan. A hospital's general insurance search does not establish coverage for your visit. Keep the written answer with your policy.5,
ANS lists maximum waits for new or adapted plans of 24 hours for qualifying urgent or emergency care, 180 days for other care and 300 days for term birth. Plan segmentation and exceptions matter. Do not read the 24-hour figure as universal inpatient coverage.9,
Prepare the practical details
- Carry a concise medication, allergy and treatment summary, with previous results you need for continuity.
- Confirm whether an appointment is required and how the unit handles the language you use.
- Save the home address, apartment number and entrance instructions beside the emergency contacts.
Call SAMU 192 for a medical emergency. Fire and rescue is 193. Use the emergency guide and the retirement care checks for the wider plan.12
Questions people ask
Where is the public general medicine emergency lead?
HRAN's current SES DF service charter explicitly lists general medicine within its 24-hour triaged emergency service. Its address is SMHN Quadra 101 Bloco A, Área Especial, Asa Norte.
Why should I confirm Hospital de Base's general medicine service?
Its emergency paragraph says general medicine is not offered, while a later generic table includes it. Ask the hospital for the appropriate current unit instead of choosing the convenient interpretation.
Does a missing CPF prevent migrant primary care?
The Health Ministry's Technical Note 8/2024 says missing CPF, identification, a SUS card or residence proof must not block access to migrant primary care. The guidance does not promise an immediate specialist appointment.
Does Santa Lúcia Sul accept my insurance?
The hospital's published services do not settle your exact policy. Ask the insurer and hospital to confirm the unit, specialty, procedure, authorization and any waiting period in writing.
