Safety and emergencies in Brasília
Plan around the home, journey and day you will actually use.

The short answer
Safety planning in Brasília starts with a specific address and route. A neighborhood label cannot establish the risk at an apartment entrance or crossing. Save the emergency numbers, identify the appropriate care lead and inspect the building's practical access. For an outdoor day, use the venue's current instructions and closures. Historical station normals describe the seasons, rather than today's air quality, rainfall or trail conditions.
- Save SAMU 192, fire and rescue 193, police 190 and Civil Defense 199.
- Confirm Hospital de Base's general medicine route because its published page conflicts.
- The national park says it has no on-site rescue service. Plan the outing accordingly.
Check the actual route and property
- Walk the route at the time you expect to travel, including the stop or pickup point and building entrance.
- Ask the building about access control, emergency exits and how visitors or responders reach the apartment.
- Check drainage, visible water damage and the landlord's account of past problems at the specific property.
- Keep the full address, block, apartment and entrance instructions accessible on your phone and on paper.
The central map selects streets and parks. It does not establish a safe route, an official neighborhood boundary or continuous accessible access.1,

HRAN publishes a 24-hour triaged emergency service including general medicine. Hospital de Base's page contradicts itself on that specialty. Use the care details to save the appropriate unit and contact.9,
Keep current conditions separate
The INMET reference uses historical 1991 to 2020 station normals. July's rainfall normal is 1.5 mm, while November's is 253.1 mm. Those values help explain the seasonal contrast, but they cannot predict a storm, smoke or the condition of a particular road.31,
National Civil Defense guidance says never cross a flooded road, including in a vehicle. Follow official warnings for the actual day and area. Inspect the property rather than using a historical rainfall average as its risk classification.35
Plan the outing around its limits
Brasília National Park says it has no on-site rescue service. Stay on marked trails, carry the supplies you need and check the current route restrictions. Its pool schedule and holiday closure exceptions matter before you travel.20
Jardim Botânico's public visitor area does not include unrestricted access to its ecological station. Use the venue guide and the station reference for different parts of the plan.7
Questions people ask
Which area is the safest?
These sources do not establish a comparable current neighborhood crime ranking. Inspect the actual home and route, and use current official information for the location you are considering.
Which number should I call for a medical emergency?
SAMU is 192. Fire and rescue is 193, police is 190 and Civil Defense is 199. Keep the full address and access instructions ready.
Does the weather chart predict flood risk at a home?
No. It gives historical station normals, not a forecast or parcel classification. Ask about the actual property and follow current official warnings. Never cross a flooded road.
Does the national park provide on-site rescue?
Its visitor page says it does not. Plan the route around the group's ability, stay on marked trails and check the current restrictions before entering.
