The short answer

Campo Grande's park setting, Bioparque Pantanal and Museu das Culturas Dom Bosco offer different ways to spend a free afternoon. Their admission and booking rules differ. Start with the actual visit you want, check its current opening and arrange the return. Keep the city's railway heritage as historical context rather than treating an old tourism article as a current activity timetable.

  • Bioparque admission is free, with booking rules.
  • Bookings open Mondays at 8 a.m. local state time.
  • The museum's guided visits require booking.
  • Historical city context does not establish current opening.

Our take

Book Bioparque through its actual route

Bioparque Pantanal publishes free admission and says bookings open Mondays at 8 a.m. Mato Grosso do Sul time. The individual or family route covers up to six people. Its page also describes day-of-visit vacancies, including online or on-site QR routes, but those do not guarantee a place. Do not buy a resale admission.1

Children aged two or older need their own CPF under the published route. Ask visitor support about foreign documents rather than substituting a guardian's CPF. The visitor address is Av Afonso Pena 6001, Chácara Cachoeira, 79031-010. Published visitor support is WhatsApp +55 67 99215 1810, telephone +55 67 3389 9634 and agendamento.bioparque@gmail.com.1,2

Confirm the Dom Bosco museum visit

The MuseusBr entry gives Museu das Culturas Dom Bosco at Av Afonso Pena 7000, Parque das Nações Indígenas, Portal Ñandeva, Cidade Jardim, 79010-200. Its self-reported visitor information lists US$2.00 (R$10) admission, Tuesday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday or holidays 2 to 6 p.m. Confirm the actual opening and price before going.3,4

Guided visits require booking. Ask about the actual language, group, access and facilities you need. UCDB's September 21, 2026 report describes the university-operated museum's natural-history and cultural collections. Its special September event does not make ordinary future visits free.3,5

Read the park and railway context honestly

The Ministry of Tourism's June 2016 article describes the city's Noroeste railway history and heritage complex, including its 2009 IPHAN listing. That gives a historical thread for exploring Campo Grande. It does not establish today's exhibitions, opening or bookable railway activity.6

The licensed park photograph was taken in October 2021. It shows a lake, path, buildings and a monument in the evening setting. Use it as historical visual context, not proof of today's lighting, accessible facilities, businesses or property conditions.7,8,9,10

Plan the actual outing and return

Check the day's weather and venue instructions, then arrange the exact outward and return trip. Confirm any child document, guided booking or mobility need directly with the venue. A park feature on the map does not establish a usable entrance.2,11,12

Read families, getting around, weather and neighborhoods alongside the actual visit.13,14,15

Questions people ask

Is Bioparque admission free?

Yes. Its published admission is free. Use the actual booking or vacancy route and do not assume a walk-in place.

When do Bioparque bookings open?

The published release is Monday at 8 a.m. Mato Grosso do Sul time. Check the actual available visit dates.

Can a child use the guardian's CPF?

The published route requires the child's own CPF from age two. Ask visitor support about foreign-document handling.

Does a September museum event establish free ordinary admission?

No. The self-reported registry lists an ordinary fee, and the UCDB event report is date-specific. Confirm the actual visit price and opening.
