The short answer

Campo Grande's care network has different entry points for urgent treatment, primary care and specialist services. The September 2026 reorganization makes that distinction practical. UPAs and CRSs operate around the clock, while CENORT has a narrower urgent orthopedic role. Choose your routine unit and urgent destination separately, then confirm the actual treatment, medication and language arrangements your household needs.

  • UPAs and CRSs have a published 24-hour role.
  • CENORT's urgent role is orthopedic.
  • Primary-care units have different hours.
  • A directory entry does not guarantee a specialty or appointment.

Our take

Separate urgent care from specialist appointments

The September 1, 2026 municipal notice says UPAs and CRSs operate 24 hours, every day. It gives CENORT urgent orthopedic service from 6 a.m. to midnight daily and moves outpatient orthopedic specialist care to CEM. A long opening window does not make every service a general emergency department. Call SAMU 192 for a medical emergency.1,2

Ask which unit serves the home, how routine registration and appointments work, and how continuing prescriptions, vaccination records and test results transfer. Brazil's Ministry of Health states that migrants can access SUS regardless of nationality or migration status. Actual local scheduling and treatment still need the receiving service.5,7

Confirm the hospital service you need

Humap-UFMS publishes Av Senador Filinto Muller 355, Cidade Universitária, Vila Ipiranga, 79080-190. Its hospital page directs users to separate service information and schedules. Establish the actual referral, department and entrance for your treatment instead of assuming the hospital address means unrestricted walk-in access to every service.8

For private coverage, check the exact plan's geographic scope, provider network and waiting periods. A named hospital or clinic does not prove that it accepts your contract or covers your intended treatment. Request an answer for the actual plan and procedure.9,10

Prepare the clinical handover

Bring a clear treatment summary, medicine names and doses, allergies, vaccination records and important results. Ask about Portuguese-language support and the actual supply of a continuing medicine before running down your stock. Keep a usable route from the home to the receiving service.7,11

Read retirement, families and safety with the actual household needs. A housing feature or area name does not establish care access.4,6
