A first load on an unidentified prepaid card can start at the passenger fare. A nominal card has a different minimum. The transport guide explains the distinction. School fees belong in a direct school quote, not an assumed allowance.¹⁰

Do not manufacture a monthly total

Valor's Jardins, Vitta Clube and Farolândia house pages leave billing periods unstated. Grand Parc displays zero charges but also asks you to consult them. Ask for the dates and obligations rather than adding these fields to a monthly total.^1,2,8

How the dollar references work

Dollar comparisons use the Banco Central do Brasil PTAX selling quote of BRL 4.98920 per U.S. dollar on October 9, 2026. Each real amount is divided by that quote. Rent and service references round to a whole dollar, with cents retained below US$10. Transport references round to cents. Your actual card, bank or transfer rate can differ.¹¹

Questions people ask

What does a two-bedroom rental cost?

The Aruana example advertises US$441 (BRL 2,200) monthly rent plus separate charges. The Jardins and Vitta Clube examples publish different asking amounts with unstated periods. These individual offers do not establish a market average.

Can I assume zero condominium and IPTU mean included?

No. The Jardins page displays zeros but also tells readers to confirm charges. Ask the agent to state which obligations are included in the lease.

Is the technical bus fare what I pay?

No. SMTT distinguishes a technical fare of US$1.40 (BRL 7) from the passenger fare of US$0.90 (BRL 4.50) in its 2026 notice.

Does a cheaper internet plan settle my remote-work budget?

No. The plan price is one recurring reference. Exact-address installation, upload, reliability and backup arrangements still need checking before you depend on the connection.
