The short answer

Córdoba rentals use Argentina's current Civil and Commercial Code and Córdoba's provincial professional regime. The Code allows agreed term, currency, adjustment index and deposit terms. Where no permanent-housing term is agreed, Article 1198 supplies a two-year default. Córdoba Law 9445 permits freely agreed professional commission and sets a default when no agreement exists. Obtain the actual draft and an itemized quote before paying.

  • A two-year term is a default where no term is agreed.
  • Rent currency and adjustment index can be agreed.
  • Córdoba professional commission uses Law 9445.
  • Early termination uses 10 percent of the future rent balance under Article 1221.

Córdoba has its own professional regime

Provincial Law 9445 Article 24 permits freely agreed professional commission. Article 25 gives an urban letting default of five percent of the whole contract where no fee agreement exists, paid by the tenant. Neither provision creates a universal fixed five-percent charge for every contract.3

Buenos Aires city tenant-commission advice uses a different jurisdiction. Ask the Córdoba professional for their registration, exact fee agreement, receipt and calculation. The guide does not import the Buenos Aires rule.3
