Belém relocation guide
Healthcare in Belém
Separate an emergency address, a routine appointment and a private-plan network. They are three different decisions.

The short answer
Belém has named hospital options, but a directory entry does not tell you which clinician is on duty or whether your plan pays. Keep one emergency route and one routine-care contact ready before moving. The hospitals below have complete CNES records with no disabling code. Their published status and hours still need practical confirmation for the service you need.
- CNES lists continuous 24-hour shifts for all four hospitals below.
- Hospital Amazônia publishes 24-hour urgent care separately from shorter outpatient reception hours.
- Mário Pinotti has a dated agreement to remain open, with structural reform still part of the context.
Four named hospital leads
| Hospital | Published address | Useful contact or qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Mário Pinotti municipal emergency hospital | Tv. 14 de Março 500, Umarizal | CNES phone +55 91 3184-6301; see agreement context below |
| Humberto Maradei Pereira municipal emergency hospital | Passagem São Miguel 100, Guamá | CNES lists a continuous 24-hour shift; outside the central map frame |
| Hospital Amazônia | Tv. Nove de Janeiro 1267, São Brás | Operator publishes 24-hour Pronto Atendimento; routine clinic hours differ |
| Beneficente Portuguesa, Hospital D. Luiz I | Av. Generalíssimo Deodoro 868, Umarizal | Consultation numbers +55 91 3215-4319 and +55 91 3215-4328 |
The CNES records have different update dates, including September 2025 for Guamá and Beneficente. None has a disabling code in the October 12, 2026 check. Confirm live staffing, language needs and private-plan acceptance with the provider.2,
Read the operating context
Hospital Amazônia publishes urgent care around the clock, every day. Its outpatient reception is Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 7 a.m. to noon, with no Sunday or holiday outpatient service. The operator prints +55 91 9116-9952 for contact. That is its published mobile format.3,
An April 14, 2026 MPF notice reports an agreement reached the previous day to keep Mário Pinotti operating with open-door access. It also says structural improvements remain necessary. Use the current contact for practical directions; the agreement is not evidence that every repair is complete.7
Arrange care before you need it
- Ask the chosen provider about the exact specialty, booking process and language needs.
- Have the insurer confirm the exact hospital, doctor and procedure in your plan network.
- Check waiting periods and exclusions before relying on a new policy.
- Bring prescriptions, summaries and copies that a local clinician can use.
National Ministry of Health guidance says missing identity documents, CPF, CNS or proof of residence must not be a reason to deny migrants primary care. That guidance does not turn a private hospital into a free walk-in service or promise immediate specialist care. For a medical emergency, call 192.14,

Questions people ask
Does a continuous CNES shift guarantee the service I need today?
No. It describes the registered operating shift. Confirm the specialty and current route with the hospital, and use emergency services when appropriate.
Are Hospital Amazônia's clinic and urgent-care hours the same?
No. The operator publishes urgent care 24 hours every day. Routine outpatient reception has shorter weekday and Saturday hours and closes Sundays and holidays.
Was Mário Pinotti closed for the proposed reform?
The April 2026 MPF notice reports an agreement that it would remain open. Structural reform planning was still necessary. The notice does not prove that later works are complete.
Can I use a new private plan immediately for everything?
No. ANS publishes waiting-period limits for applicable plans, with exceptions and coverage segmentation. Confirm your own start date, network, procedure coverage and waiting period before booking.
