Angra dos Reis relocation guide
Getting around Angra dos Reis
Plan the route, direction and return before leaving.
The short answer
Angra transport needs an address and a day, rather than one general answer about getting around. Bonfim publishes mainland bus routes and different fares. Barcas publishes a scheduled crossing from Centro to Abraão. Check the route variant and return first, especially when a school, appointment or island stay depends on the journey.
- Use the route-specific ferry timetable.
- Bonfim line 106 has different route variants.
- Confirm resident payment eligibility separately from an ordinary fare.
Match the bus to the address
| Service | Fare comparison | Useful distinction |
|---|---|---|
| C01 Circular, C03 Marinas or C04 Vila Velha | US$1.16 per rideBRL 5.80 | These specific lines have the lower published fare. |
| 103 Camorim, 106 Jacuecanga or 207 Japuíba | US$1.40 per rideBRL 7 | Choose the actual direction and variant. |
| 227 Expresso Parque Mambucaba | US$1.83 per rideBRL 9.15 | Do not apply the lower fare to this express line. |
Line 103 lists weekday Centro departures including 6:50 a.m., 7:20 a.m. and 7:55 a.m. Its Camorim return list includes 6:15 a.m., 6:40 a.m. and 7:10 a.m. These are examples from a longer timetable, not a fixed interval throughout the day.5,
Line 106 distinguishes Morro da Cruz and Balneário variants. Read the correct day and direction before planning a Jacuecanga journey. Bonfim publishes +55 24 3364-1200, 0800 886-1000 and contato@vsbonfim.com.br.4,
Use the actual Angra to Abraão route

|---|---|---|

The Angra station page gives Cais da Lapa, s/n, Centro. Its ticket office hours are 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and noon to 1:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays. The page also contains generic departure and status placeholders. Use the route timetable above and confirm today's operation.1,
Both operator pages support cash, credit and debit for ordinary Ilha Grande passengers. Their RioCard wording differs. The FAQ limits island RioCard use to registered residents. Ask Barcas about the resident program rather than assuming a lease gives you free or card-based travel.1,
Match the address to the school or care destination. Use the outing plan and weather and emergency checks before island travel.
Questions people ask
Which pier does this Barcas route use in Angra?
The operator's Angra station page gives Cais da Lapa, s/n, Centro. Do not assume another boat operator's Santa Luzia departure applies to this service.
Can I make a same-day island visit on these two Barcas departures?
The published Abraão return leaves at 10 a.m., before the mainland departure. Those departures alone do not make a same-day out-and-back trip. Arrange another confirmed return or an overnight stay.
Can an ordinary Ilha Grande passenger use RioCard?
The route page says RioCard is not accepted. The FAQ describes use only for registered island residents. Ordinary passengers should plan around the jointly published cash, credit or debit options and ask about any resident entitlement separately.
Is Jacuecanga line 106 one simple timetable?
No. Bonfim distinguishes Morro da Cruz and Balneário variants with separate day schedules and some marked exceptions. Check the correct variant and direction for your destination.
