Angra dos Reis relocation guide
Living in Angra dos Reis
Choose the mainland or the island before choosing the view.
The short answer
Angra dos Reis gives you two different moves. A mainland address can connect your home to local buses, schools and registered care. An Ilha Grande address adds the boat timetable to those decisions. Start with the weekday you need to repeat, then choose the setting you want around it.
- Treat mainland and island addresses as different daily routines.
- Match the exact rental period before comparing prices.
- Check school, care and connection arrangements before a long commitment.
Start with the ordinary weekday
Centro, Parque das Palmeiras and Camorim appear in specific rental offers. Miranda publishes its school address in Parque das Palmeiras. CEDUC is in Jacuecanga. These are useful starting points for a real address search, rather than interchangeable versions of a beach lifestyle.1,
The scheduled Barcas service leaves Angra in the afternoon and returns from Abraão in the morning. That pattern matters for work, appointments and visitors. It also means that service alone cannot take you out and back on the same day.11
Choose the checks that settle your move
Use the rental examples to separate monthly offers from daily stays. Then compare the address choices against the actual bus and ferry services. Families should start with school programs; anyone with ongoing treatment should start with local care and referral questions.

Questions people ask
Should I start on the mainland or Ilha Grande?
Start on the mainland when your move depends on frequent appointments or a school commute. An island base needs a workable boat schedule and a separate plan for care that is unavailable locally.
Does every rental advertisement give a monthly price?
No. Maete explicitly gives a monthly price for its Centro property. The three Zenatti details shown here do not state their billing periods. Porto Bali publishes a daily holiday price.
Are there bilingual school options?
Miranda publishes MiraPlus for nursery through fifth grade. CEDUC describes a bilingual system across its school offering. Ask each school about the exact year, hours and support your child needs.
Does the map cover the whole municipality?
No. It shows selected central mainland streets, streams and parks. Ilha Grande and outlying addresses are outside the frame. Ocean, coastline and official neighborhood boundaries are omitted.
