The short answer
Villa Gesell has a municipal hospital and primary care centers across the city. Hospital expansion has also moved some specialties into CAPS. Choose the center around the service you need, rather than assuming every consultation happens at the hospital. Confirm the current entrance, appointment process and billing before relying on a care arrangement.
- Urgent care and specialty appointments differ.
- Hospital expansion remains a project in progress.
- Call the center for the specific service.
Find the current hospital entrance
A September 9, 2026 municipal notice places Hospital Municipal on Avenida 8 between Paseos 123 and 124. The useful-phone directory still prints Calle 123 number 900 and telephone 02255 46-2618. Confirm the entrance during works. The municipality has described hospital urgent care as available 24 hours.1,
The October 1, 2026 update describes works for 12 new rooms, 24 additional beds and two elevators. It expects completion in coming months. Those are planned additions, rather than beds and elevators you can already rely on.4

The February 2025 relocation notice assigned ophthalmology, dentistry and pediatrics to Norte. It placed trauma care at Oeste and nutrition at the diabetes center. Ask that center where the service operates now.2
The July 2025 notice describes walk-in clinical consultations and lists center-specific days. For example, Norte's afternoon sessions differed between Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Call for today's schedule instead of treating its general weekday statement as a universal appointment window.3
Make a treatment plan before the move
- Give the center your needed specialty and appointment frequency.
- Ask which identity and residence documents it accepts.
- Confirm charges and your insurer's approval process.
- Ask where referrals, tests and medicines are handled.
- Verify the entrance and the full route if stairs are difficult.
Use the address guide and transport contacts to test the care route. Keep pediatric needs or ongoing treatment in the housing decision. Budget separately in the cost guide and save emergency contacts.
Questions people ask
Are the announced new beds already operating?
The October 1, 2026 update describes work underway and expected completion in coming months. It does not establish the additional beds as operational.
Should I go to the hospital for every specialty?
No. The municipality moved several specialties to CAPS during hospital works. Ask the relevant center where your service operates now.
Does walk-in care mean I can attend any weekday afternoon?
The July 2025 notice includes a general weekday statement and more specific center schedules. Check the center's current service before traveling.
Will a passport automatically enroll me for free treatment?
These contacts do not establish passport-only enrollment or free treatment for every foreign visitor. Ask the service and insurer about your documents and billing.
