The short answer

Gigared advertises residential internet plans in Corrientes and Oruga offers a coworking contact to investigate. A home still needs a quiet desk, usable cooling and a connection that works for your calls. If you work for overseas clients, check whether Argentina's digital nomad category fits your nationality and activity. Local work and tax residence require separate attention.

  • Check the exact home connection. Gigared's advertised plans depend on address availability and do not measure performance inside the home.
  • Get a coworking quote. Oruga advertises desks and private offices, but its tariff and exact street address were not verified.
  • The nomad category has limits. It covers qualifying visa-exempt nationalities providing remote services to overseas clients.
  • Keep tax and immigration separate. The income-tax rules do not use a universal 183-day residence test.

Build the work arrangement before the move

Inspect the room where you will actually work during rental viewings. Check a usable desk, sockets, cooling, household noise and the background for calls. A bedroom count does not prove two people can work privately.

Ask about installation before moving. Compare the home with Oruga Coworking, then price only the arrangements you will use in your living costs.

The utilities guide explains installation and promotion conditions. Confirm the full recurring charge and any minimum term before ordering. A conditional installation waiver is not an unconditional free setup.

If you need reliable calls from the first day, arrange a confirmed alternative rather than assuming immediate installation. Ask Oruga about its exact address, available space, access hours and current quote.7

Check summer conditions and the home's recent electricity bills. A fast plan is less useful if you cannot comfortably use the workspace for a full day.

Digital nomad residence

DNM Disposition 758/2022 Article 1 authorizes transitory digital nomad residence for visa-exempt nationalities providing remote services to overseas clients. The initial authorization is 180 days. It is not a general permit for paid work with local clients.2

Article 3 permits one renewal for the same term, subject to conditions including presence in Argentina for at least half the original term. Two full grants would total 360 days. Renewal is an application, not an automatic extra period.4

Use Argentina's residence guide to check the current application route and documents. Do not assume the ordinary RaDEX process applies to the nomad category. Check the applicable instructions before booking travel.

Tourist guidance says tourists cannot perform paid tasks. If your activity or nationality does not fit the nomad category, get advice on the correct residence and work route rather than treating a tourist admission as permission.3

Income tax needs its own review

Income Tax Law 20,628 Article 1 taxes residents on Argentine and foreign income. Nonresidents generally face tax on Argentine-source income. Receiving foreign payments does not by itself answer the tax treatment.1

Article 116 covers foreign individuals with permanent residence or twelve months of temporary migration authorizations. The stated tax-residence change takes effect at the beginning of the following month. The rule has qualifications and should not be reduced to 183 days.1

Ask a qualified adviser about your residence category, activity, source of income and home-country obligations. A digital nomad immigration permission is not a blanket tax exemption.

For payment arrangements, check local banking documents before assuming account approval or convenient transfers. Keep tax advice separate from the bank's document decision.

Fit work around the rest of the household

Compare neighborhood locations with the places you need each week. Test the journey to a workspace before assuming a mapped line fits your hours.

If moving with children, settle school arrangements and care alongside work. Use the moving checklist to schedule the parts that depend on appointments or installation.

Questions people ask

Can I work remotely from Corrientes?

Check the residence category for your nationality and activity first. The digital nomad category covers qualifying visa-exempt nationalities serving overseas clients. You also need a suitable workspace, connection and a separate tax review.

How long does digital nomad residence last?

The initial period is 180 days. DNM permits one renewal for the same term, subject to its conditions, including presence for at least half the original term. It is not automatic.

Can I use the nomad category for Argentine clients?

The category is for remote services to overseas clients. It is not a general authorization for local paid work. Check the applicable route if your activity includes Argentine clients or employment.

Does tourist admission permit paid remote work?

DNM tourist guidance says tourists cannot perform paid tasks. Check the category that fits the work rather than assuming a tourist stay settles it. The nomad category has its own conditions.

How much is home internet for remote work?

Gigared's October list prices include US$49 (ARS 75,000) monthly for 100/50 Mbps and US$72 (ARS 109,700) for 300/150 Mbps. Confirm address availability, the final plan and installation. Advertised speeds are not in-home tests.

Where can I work outside my rental?

Oruga advertises shared coworking and private offices. Ask for the exact address, tariff, available space and access hours. Visit and test a normal call before choosing the plan.

Does nomad residence make my income tax-free?

No blanket exemption follows from that immigration permission. Argentine income-tax residence and income-source rules need a separate review, together with any obligations in another country.

Does Argentina use a universal 183-day tax rule?

Do not rely on that shortcut. Article 116 includes permanent residence and twelve months of temporary migration authorizations, with effective timing from the following month and qualifications. Get advice for your exact status and activity.

Can two people work from a one-bedroom rental?

Inspect the actual layout, desks, noise and simultaneous-call privacy. A one-bedroom label or internet icon does not prove two usable workspaces. Ask about cooling and connection performance in both locations.

What should I arrange before arrival?

Check residence eligibility, insurance, work space and installation or a confirmed alternative. Save the relevant documents and contacts. Do not assume an online reservation or advertised plan is a completed booking.
