The short answer

DPEC handles electricity service and Gigared advertises residential internet in Corrientes. DPEC's account checklist requires identity and occupancy documents, plus a guarantor or deposit arrangement. Gigared's October plans depend on service at the address. Ask the landlord for complete recent bills, then check whose name each account will use and what you must pay to connect or transfer it.

  • Check the billing period. DPEC's stated fixed charge and usage bands cover two months.
  • A tariff example is not a full bill. The example below leaves taxes and other charges outside the calculation.
  • Ask about your documents early. DPEC lists DNI for account setup. The guide has not confirmed a passport-only alternative.
  • Confirm internet at the exact home. Gigared's October prices do not guarantee technical availability at every address.

Inspect bills before signing

Ask the agency which bills are included in the rent and which remain separate. Get the latest full electricity, water and any gas bills, not only a quoted allowance.

Questions for the landlord
AccountWhat to request
ElectricityRecent complete bills, meter details, tariff category, debts and account-transfer arrangement
WaterOperator, full bill, billing period and whether the charge is separate or included
Gas or other fuelType of supply, appliances, account holder and recent cost
InternetOperator, exact plan, installation status, equipment and cancellation terms
Building expensesPeriod, included services and any separate charges

This guide has no current complete water bill or household gas price. Request those amounts for the selected home before building a monthly budget. The missing amounts should stay on your checklist.

Read the electricity tariff correctly

DPEC tariff 108-G, urban unsubsidized residential supply below 10 kW
ComponentChargeUnit
Fixed chargeUS$22ARS 33,878Per two-month billing period
First usage bandUS$0.14ARS 205.87Per kWh for the first 600 kWh over two months
Excess usageUS$0.16ARS 244.294Per kWh above that band
The cited tariff and August to October 2026 pass-through cover these components. Other charges and taxes are not priced here. Subsidy conditions require a separate eligibility check.

Sources 1,3

At an assumed 300 kWh over two months, the calculation is ARS 33,878 plus 300 times ARS 205.870. Those fixed and energy charges total US$63 (ARS 95,639). Dollar prices use ARS 1,517 per US$1, quoted October 9, 2026.1,5

That calculation does not predict your bill. Ask for actual usage, check whether the home has the same category, and add every other charge on the bill. A subsidy advertised to eligible households is not automatic eligibility for a newcomer.

Summer cooling deserves attention. The climate guide shows long-term airport conditions. Check the bedroom and workspace cooling, seals and ventilation during home viewings.

Setting up or transferring DPEC service

DPEC's checklist asks for applicant DNI, proof of occupancy and a guarantor, with a deposit alternative. Applicant and guarantor must have no prior DPEC debt. A deposit amount depends on the assessed load; no universal setup total is quoted.4

  1. Confirm identity documents

DPEC lists DNI. If you will arrive with a passport or another residence document, ask what it accepts before signing.

  2. Prepare proof of occupancy

Ask which lease or ownership document must accompany the request.

  3. Arrange the guarantee

Check guarantor documents and attendance, or ask for the deposit assessment.

  4. Agree who will submit the request

The operator describes personal applications and notarized representation. Confirm the office or Autogestión process for your case.

The published contact is dpecdigital@dpec.com.ar. Its checklist still uses some AFIP terminology. Ask which current tax or income document it expects rather than interpreting an old label yourself.4

Keep the landlord's agreement about account ownership and existing debts in writing. Add confirmed connection or deposit costs to the money needed on arrival.

The operator advertises a qualifying 10% automatic-payment discount for six months. Ask about its debt, promotion and payment conditions, then compare the price after the discount ends.2

The stated TV, 300 Mbps fiber and telephone installation pack has a US$98 (ARS 148,300) list charge. A waiver for new customers requires twelve months of service. Early cancellation can trigger the current installation tariff. Confirm the pack that applies to your order.2

Advertised speeds do not measure the connection in your home. If work depends on video calls, test upload, latency and simultaneous use. The coworking guide gives a local alternative to investigate.

At the handover

  1. Photograph meter readings

Record the date and agree which usage belongs to the previous occupant.

  2. Check appliances and connection points

Inspect cooling, hot water, sockets, the router location and the supplied equipment.

  3. Save account and repair contacts

Keep the operator channels and the landlord's contact for faults inside the property.

  4. Keep the first complete bills

Compare them with the quoted terms and ask about unexplained charges.

Work arrangements also affect the home you need. Use the remote-work checklist for workspace checks, and the moving checklist to schedule setup without assuming same-day installation.

Questions people ask

Who supplies electricity in Corrientes?

DPEC is the electricity operator covered here. Ask it about the specific address and whether you need a new connection or an account transfer. Confirm the account arrangement with the landlord.

Is the electricity tariff monthly?

The fixed charge and usage bands cited from DPEC tariff 108-G cover a two-month billing period. Keep that period when comparing the example with bills. Do not treat the full two-month figure as one month's charge.

How much would 300 kWh cost?

The stated unsubsidized fixed and energy charges total US$63 (ARS 95,639) for 300 kWh over two months. Taxes and other charges remain outside that example. It is not a complete bill or a measured household average.

Can I open a DPEC account with a passport?

The published checklist lists DNI. A passport-only alternative was not confirmed for this guide. Contact DPEC at dpecdigital@dpec.com.ar about your documents before relying on an account transfer.

Does DPEC require a guarantor?

The checklist includes a guarantor and permits a deposit alternative. Ask about the required documents, attendance and assessed deposit amount. The applicant and guarantor must have no prior DPEC debt.

How much is Gigared internet?

October 2026 list prices run from US$49 (ARS 75,000) monthly for 100/50 Mbps to US$98 (ARS 149,000) for 1,000/500 Mbps. Confirm the address, final pack and installation terms.

Is Gigared installation free?

The named TV, 300 Mbps fiber and telephone pack has a conditional installation waiver for new customers who keep service for twelve months. Its list installation charge is US$98 (ARS 148,300). Ask what applies to your chosen plan and early cancellation.

Are water and gas included in rent?

Ask the agency for the specific lease and complete bills. This guide has not priced those household charges. An apartment's advertised building expenses do not settle every separate utility account.

Can I count on the advertised internet speed for work?

Confirm technical availability and test the actual connection where possible. Advertised download and upload rates are not measurements of latency, outages or performance inside the home. Ask about installation before moving.

What should I photograph when receiving the keys?

Record meter readings, existing equipment and any visible faults. Keep the date and the landlord's acknowledgment. Save complete first bills so you can check charges against the agreed handover.
