Federal Police lists registration within 90 days of entry for a temporary visa. Residence granted in Brazil has a separate 30-day clock from publication in the Diário Oficial da União. Normal domicile jurisdiction and legal exceptions matter. Check the process for your own status rather than treating either clock as a visitor-stay extension.²¹

Ask Finance about your actual vehicle

The older exemption framework requires prior online application. A November 2025 tenant notice addresses exemptions exceeding one vehicle per rented property and gives notified people 10 days from receipt to choose the vehicle. That notification period differs from the older decree's 10-business-day decision period.^2,4,5,17
