The city's enrollment page, updated September 25, 2026, links Sobrecadastro Permanente 2026 for remaining places throughout the school year. It covers the municipal process, while the main 2026 registration campaign ran October 28 to November 14, 2025. Those campaign dates are historical.¹

For help with the process, the city directs families to their Diretoria Regional de Educação through the enrollment page. Its school FAQ publishes cadastroescolar.smed@edu.pbh.gov.br. Explain the child's age, present schooling, arrival date, address and document gaps when asking for the next step.^1,2

Ask about the household's actual documents

The 2026 notice names the birth certificate, updated vaccination declaration and address proof among enrollment documents. The FAQ distinguishes the vaccination declaration from the vaccination card. Ask the health center about the Declaração de Vacinação Atualizada.^2,3

The FAQ says a notarized rental contract can serve when a tenant lacks a bill in their own name. It also describes a health-center residence declaration where documentation is absent. Ask how the school handles foreign records, translation, CPF gaps and the child's placement. The enrollment notice specifically identifies migrant and refugee children among protected situations requiring attention.^2,3

Keep nursery expectations realistic

For children aged zero to three, the current city page explains vulnerability priorities and remaining-place allocation. It also warns that sibling placement does not imply immediate attendance in every case. Ask about the relevant waiting list, actual place, school day and support.¹

Transfers can be requested during the year when the destination has a place, according to the school FAQ. A convenient address or a submitted form does not settle the receiving school's capacity.²

Confirm the school day before the home
