The short answer

Check your immigration category, any school admission, continuing care and internet connection before committing to a house. Arrange viewings and ask how much you must pay before moving in. Some residence applications happen in Argentina. Check the application sequence before departure; you do not always need a permit granted abroad.

  • Check the category before departure. Follow the procedure for your nationality, income and work.
  • Try your daily trips. Include school, healthcare and work.
  • Obtain written terms. Advance rent and document requirements can change the move's cost.

Arrange the essentials before a long lease

  • Prepare the identity, address and criminal certificates required for that category, with any legalization and certified Spanish translation.
  • Arrange continuing medical coverage, medicines and records, including provider and payment checks.
  • If traveling with a child, confirm school admission and the campus before choosing nearby housing.
  • If bringing a dog or cat, follow SENASA and airline document and timing requirements.

The Argentine consulate says U.S. nationals do not need a visa for tourism or family visits up to 90 days. Check the rules separately for other nationalities and purposes. Read the Argentina residence guide. Tourist admission does not authorize local paid work.5,6

During a viewing trip

  • Visit the exact house and inspect its rooms, entrance, equipment and recent bills.
  • Try the bus or driving journey at the times you would normally travel.
  • Confirm the school entrance and any appointment location.
  • Ask Micom or another provider for address-specific installation and pricing.
  • Request every rent payment, separate charge and document condition in writing.

Use the rent offers to plan viewings. Check journeys with the address guide, then contact the schools and healthcare providers your household would use.

Before paying and moving in

Bridge's advertised annual contract requires US$14,400 rent upfront and specifies DNI. Confirm whether the offer accepts your documents and household, what other charges apply, and who is authorized to sign and receive payment. No other house's terms should be assumed from that offer.1

The rental procedure covers the written offer. Put advance rent, transport, documents and installation in your arrival cash. Record meter readings, keys and any agreed repairs when taking possession.

Save emergency contacts and identify the actual utility suppliers. Complete the steps for your migration category through its official process; do not replace that process with an informal promise from a landlord or agent.3
