Start with the published municipal route

The municipal FAQ directs nursery applicants to Central de Vagas, online or in person. It lists the child's SUS card and birth certificate, the responsible adult's identity and address proof. Complete data and uploaded documents are required for registration. Ask how foreign records and identity are accepted before submitting.¹

The November 27, 2025 campaign describes nursery registration for ages zero to three. For children aged four to ten, it gives applications from January 5, 2026 at the preferred school, with Central de Vagas if there is no place. January is a past start date, not a new October opening. Ask about the current place or transfer for your child.²

Central de Vagas is at Rua Bruno Sargiani 100, beside AME. The campaign identifies Vila Rica and gives weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The FAQ lists +55 11 4414-3429, +55 11 4414-3427 and +55 11 4414-3426. Confirm the current attendance arrangement before visiting.^1,2

Ask about the actual attendance day

The FAQ says Berçário through Infantil II units operate full time. Infantil III has full- and partial-time schools, with a preference stated during registration. For Infantil IV, Infantil V and first through fifth grades, families can express full-time interest through the unit's preference list. This does not guarantee the child a full-time place.¹

Confirm entry, collection, meals, term dates and any period outside the teaching day. The annual preference list can include more than one unit under the campaign rules. Keep family life and the adult's work arrangement beside the confirmed schedule.^1,2

Arrange transport and support through the school

The FAQ links free school transport to the published criteria under Resolution SE/CME 03 of 2023 and Instruction 08 of 2026. Its summary requires local residence, enrollment in the specified public or partnered special-education provision and compulsory schooling. It states a minimum two-kilometer home-to-school distance for pupils without mobility limitations, with disability or specific needs subject to technical assessment.¹

Ask the school during enrollment, provide address proof and complete the requested information. Do not treat an advertisement's nearby-school claim as transport eligibility. Agree the child's actual support arrangement rather than assuming an automatic individual assignment.¹
