Living in Tigre's Delta | Boats, docks and supplies

An island home changes how you get groceries, reach care and return from work. Test the ordinary week before choosing it for the river setting.

The short answer

The First Section of Delta islands belongs to Tigre district and chiefly uses public and private boats. The municipality describes homes raised on stilts above regular river rises. Official tourism information describes grocery boats and routes that can change with water conditions. Choose an island home around its own dock, operator and services, rather than treating all Delta addresses as the same journey.

  • Test the actual dock and return route.
  • Confirm supplies, water, power and internet.
  • Keep a home-specific emergency plan.

Dock access is specific

Official tourism guidance says private docks require the owner's permission, apart from emergency boarding or disembarking. Public docks are for boarding and disembarking, not staying, fishing or jumping into the river. Confirm the access rights and actual landing that come with the home.1

Confirm the boat before setting your day

The fluvial terminal is at Mitre 305 in Tigre Centro. Operators have separate booths and routes. Confirm your destination, current fare and return journey directly. Keep the agreed dock details with household and emergency contacts.4
