Passenger boats alongside Tigre’s fluvial terminal, with the river and people on the promenade

Tigre relocation guide

Living in Tigre, Argentina

Tigre puts river outings and rail connections in the same place. Choosing the mainland or the Delta changes almost every part of the move.

The short answer

Tigre has two very different daily routines. In Tigre Centro, you can plan around the rail station, streets and fluvial terminal. In the Delta, the boat route and your own dock become part of getting home. An island stay can be appealing without making island living right for your working week. Start with the journeys you need, then compare the home, services and full rental offer.

  • Choose mainland or island living first.
  • Compare the exact school, care and work journey.
  • Price the home and its extra charges together.

The selected studio advertisements ask US$310 (ARS 470,000) and US$461 (ARS 700,000) a month. A separate one-bedroom advertisement asks US$700. They differ in size, furnishing and facilities, so they do not form a like-for-like rent index. Confirm the address, current availability and extra charges before comparing them.3,6,9,10

Build the move around your routine

Hospital Dr. Valentín Nores publishes adult emergency care in Tigre Centro. The Materno Infantil hospital has separate obstetric, neonatal and pediatric services. Pilgrims' Pacheco campus and Circular Cowork in Nordelta add regional options, with journeys to check before choosing a home.1,4,8,11,13

Questions people ask

Is living in Tigre the same as living in the Delta?

No. The mainland city has street and rail connections. Island homes chiefly use boats, and dock access and water conditions affect the journey. Check the complete address and route.

Can I commute to Buenos Aires by train?

The Mitre Retiro to Tigre service connects the two terminals. Check current notices and the timetable for your date, then add the journeys at both ends.

What should I decide before renting?

Choose the mainland or an island routine, confirm essential school or care arrangements, and get the full rental terms in writing. Test the exact journeys before committing.
