General Pueyrredon Decree 1002/2026 sets the flat urban bus fare at US$1.27 (ARS 1,922) from June 1, 2026. Its annex prices some suburban and mixed journeys differently. The national June 2025 announcement adds contactless and QR payments on municipal lines. Check the current fare and your exact route before a regular commute.

The decree also gives particular mixed sections for other lines. Ask about the exact boarding and destination points. The technical calculation of ARS 1,922.56 and the operator request of ARS 2,569.48 are not the adopted flat fare.1
SUBE and additional payment methods
The June 13, 2025 national announcement covers Mar del Plata's municipal bus lines. It describes contactless Visa and Mastercard credit, debit and prepaid cards, NFC devices and QR through BNA+ or SUBE. Physical and digital SUBE remain available.8
That announcement says the base fare is the same across those payment methods. Applicable state benefits continue through SUBE. An older tourism page gives separate information for provincial line 221, so check that route with its operator.8,
Stops, arrival estimates and driving
The municipal arrival guide asks for the line, street intersection and direction. It also describes route maps and SUBE recharge points. Its current lookup returned an access error during research. Use the published contact or operator if it remains unavailable.2,
National visitor guidance gives international permits under the Inter-American Convention one year from issuance. National licenses from Geneva or Vienna contracting states have a maximum of one year from entry. Check the document, nationality and visitor-status requirements, then confirm local and rental-company acceptance. Residents must check licensing separately.4,

Is ARS 1,922 the fare on every journey?
No. The decree sets that flat urban fare and lists different suburban and mixed sections. Check the current price for your actual origin and destination.
Can I pay with a bank card?
The June 2025 announcement permits supported contactless cards on municipal lines. Check that your card and the actual bus support the payment. Do not assume the same rule on provincial line 221.
Should I keep a SUBE card?
It remains useful when you qualify for benefits that require SUBE. Ask the responsible authority about eligibility and registration rather than assuming every payment method gives the same concession.
Where can I check arrival estimates?
Use the municipal arrival service with your line, intersection and direction. If its live page is unavailable, contact the operator and allow time to confirm the stop and return journey.
Can a resident rely on the visitor driving rule?
No. The national page describes qualifying visitor documents. A resident needs a separate check with the responsible licensing authority.
