El Chaltén remote work
Remote work in El Chaltén
Choose the home around a connection you have tested. A fiber notice and a tourist WiFi listing cannot promise a working day.

The short answer
Remote work in El Chaltén needs an address-specific internet check. Cotecal's replacement telephone offer applies where fiber reaches the premises. It does not prove the connection, upload performance or price at your home. APN also mentions WiFi in local tourism establishments, without a work-service guarantee. Test your actual calls and tasks, and arrange the permission that fits your nationality and work.
- Fiber depends on the premises in Cotecal's replacement notice.
- May 2026 promotions do not establish a complete October quote.
- America/Argentina/Rio_Gallegos is the IANA time zone for Santa Cruz.
- Up to 180 days is the national nomad service's stated transitory period, with conditions and possible extension.
Is the work setup ready?
What Cotecal's notice says
Cotecal announced permanent retirement of CDMA 450 MHz telephone service from March 1, 2026. Its replacement IP offer is limited to premises reached by fiber in El Calafate or El Chaltén. The notice says old 497, 498 and 499 numbers cannot carry across.1
The promotion ran from May 1 through May 31, 2026. Although the terms mention both towns, the visible plan cards identify El Calafate. Do not use those cards as a current El Chaltén quote.2
The notice publishes info@cotecal.com.ar, WhatsApp +54 9 2966 740900 and telephone 02902 491011. Published commercial hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A published contact is not a booked installation.1
Test the tasks you will actually do

|---|---|
| Address | Service at the exact property and room you would use |
| Price | Current billing period, complete bill and installation charges |
| Work | Normal calls, uploads and essential apps on that connection |
| Timing | Working service on arrival, rather than only an installation request |
| Backup | An option you can test and reach when the home connection fails |
APN mentions WiFi in El Chaltén tourism establishments. It supplies no measured work performance, desk availability or public coworking contract. Ask the actual establishment before relying on it for a working day.5

Argentina's digital nomad route has specific conditions
The national service describes up to 180 days of transitory residence, extendable, for qualifying visa-exempt nationalities. It concerns remote services for people or entities abroad. The application takes place in person within Argentina.4
The route does not automatically cover every nationality, every remote worker or a local job. Use the official service for the full documents and procedure, and confirm that your work fits before choosing a move date.4
