The short answer

El Chaltén's published school sources name EPP 59, Kindergarten 46 Los Huemules and CPES 28, alongside EPJA institutions. They do not verify an international curriculum, current places or language support. Contact the institution that fits your child's level before moving. A maintenance agreement or a completed winter program cannot establish a current school or childcare place.

  • Kindergarten 46 Los Huemules appears in the February 2026 provincial report.
  • EPP 59 and CPES 28 appear in the municipal maintenance agreement.
  • Current places and support remain unconfirmed.
  • July's winter program was a completed activity, not a current childcare offer.

Questions for the school that fits your child

  • Ask which level and year would apply to your child.
  • Request the current placement process and required foreign school records.
  • Explain language needs and ask what support is actually available.
  • Confirm the building and classroom access your child needs.
  • Ask about the current schedule, any charges and the planned start date.
  • Check the journey from the home you are considering.

The guide has not verified current vacancies, foreign-document requirements or international accreditation. Resolve those questions before committing to a home. See rent and getting around for the address and journey checks.

Inspect the facilities your child would use

The January agreement covered a dated maintenance period. The February provincial report also described work on CPES 28's hall. Those statements do not establish completed accessible facilities or the condition of a classroom your child would use.1,2

Children's activities need their own current check

The municipality reported on August 31, 2026 that July's winter program involved 65 children and activities with Centro Andino El Chaltén. Indoor gym and climbing-wall activities supplemented outings.3

That completed program is not a year-round childcare schedule or a current enrollment invitation. Ask about the activity, supervision, age range and availability that apply to your arrival. The weather guide and days-out guide help with separate outdoor planning.
