The March 12, 2026 notice announced VISA and Mastercard contactless cards and NFC for the following week. It said the social discount would remain tied to registered SUBE. Confirm implementation and the current ordinary fare with UISE before relying on a bank card.3
Arrival from the airport
The official arrival guide puts the airport about 3.1 miles (5 km) from the city and describes taxis, remises and transfers. It states there is no airport-to-city public bus. Arrange the ride to the actual entrance and agree on luggage and price before arriving.1
The mainland road journey crosses Chile
The official itinerary crosses Chile and the Strait of Magellan ferry between Punta Delgada and Bahía Azul, with Integración Austral and San Sebastián border crossings. Check Chilean entry requirements, ferry and border arrangements separately from your right to enter Argentina. The guide does not establish current ferry times or your visa eligibility.1
Student travel follows a separate process

Can I take a public bus directly from the airport?
The official tourism guide says there is no airport-to-city public bus. Confirm a taxi, remis or transfer for the actual date.
Does the March payment notice prove bank cards work on every bus now?
No. It announced a planned launch. Confirm the current equipment and payment method before travel.
Where should I check the bus for my stop?
Open Mi Bondi and search for the stop or select it on the map. Check the current response before leaving. A route description cannot confirm that a bus is approaching now.
Does the mainland road route require separate Chile planning?
