San Juan relocation guide
Moving to San Juan, Argentina
The two apartments have different lease and income requirements. Electricity, water, home internet and hospital appointments each need their own arrangements.

The short answer
The Laprida listing specifies a 24-month contract with ICL adjustments every four months. Perez Olivera publishes several initial rental charges and general income requirements. Settle the actual written lease, provider accounts, internet installation and daily journey before booking a move.
- Confirm the rental currency, quoted period, initial charges and accepted guarantees with the agent.
- Ask Naturgy about the electricity account and tenant deposit, and OSSE about the rental water arrangement.
- Arrange the exact home internet installation and care appointments you need.
- Keep Argentina's visitor-driving rules separate from resident licensing, and keep the two pet certificate clocks separate.
Finish the home-specific arrangements first
Before paying the agent
Before signing, review the written lease with the agent, including the term, rent adjustments, inventory, shared-facility fees and payment schedule. Confirm availability, currency, the quoted price period, initial charges, guarantees, pet rules and deposit return. Ask whether the agent accepts your foreign income and documents.10,
Accounts, work and appointments
Ask for current home bills and account numbers. Naturgy lists a lease among electricity possession documents and a guarantee deposit for rentals. OSSE's published title-change list uses ownership documents, so ask about the tenant arrangement. Confirm who pays each bill in the lease.7,
Book address-specific internet installation and test the actual work area. For scheduled Rawson appointments, check the building, referral, identity documents and any coverage or payment requirements. Test the current bus journey and return.2,
Visitor documents and resident licensing
National driving guidance covers qualifying visitors. It describes an international permit valid for one year from issuance or an Inter-American permit for a maximum of one year from entry. Check the conditions for your own license and documents. Resident licensing is a separate check.1
Dog and cat entry documents
SENASA requires a health certificate issued within 10 days before the International Veterinary Certificate, or CVI, is issued. Internal and external parasite treatment must take place within 15 days before CVI issuance or official passport endorsement. Keep the CVI-only health clock separate from the parasite clock.12
A first rabies vaccination requires at least 21 days before entry. The stated CVI travel validity is 60 days while the rabies vaccination remains valid. An ordinary vaccination booklet is not an officially endorsed pet passport. Arrange the documents with the exporting authority and carrier, and ask the landlord about pet permission.10,
Questions people ask
What must I settle before paying a rental deposit?
Confirm availability, the actual unit, currency, quoted period, initial charges, guarantees and written lease. Agree on private bills, shared charges and deposit-return conditions.
Which electricity and water documents should I check?
Ask Naturgy which account-change documents and guarantee deposit apply to your rental. Ask OSSE about the tenant arrangement, since its published title-change list uses ownership documents.
When does my pet need its health certificate?
Within 10 days before CVI issuance under SENASA guidance. Arrange the examination with the authority issuing that certificate.
When must parasite treatment take place?
SENASA requires internal and external treatment within 15 days before CVI issuance or official passport endorsement. That is separate from the CVI-only health-certificate clock.
Which driving documents should I check?
Check the national visitor conditions for your license and permit. The international-permit clock runs one year from issuance, while the Inter-American maximum runs one year from entry. Check resident licensing separately.
