Retiring in Maipú | Care, Housing and Residence

Arrange ongoing care and inspect the home before a long commitment. The residence income threshold is separate from household spending.

The short answer

Hospital Diego Paroissien and municipal health centers provide local references for care inquiries. San Martín's ground-floor apartment and the Barcala duplex offer different layouts to inspect. Confirm the treatment, payment and daily journey you need before choosing a home. Immigration income requirements are a separate calculation.

  • Confirm ongoing care and payment.
  • Inspect the ordinary home and daily journeys.
  • Separate immigration income from living costs.

Match care and home access

Pensionado and rentista

DNM's current in-country pensionado service covers a regular permanent pension for overseas services. Rentista covers foreign passive asset income and excludes remuneration for personal work. Each describes one renewable year, with category-specific evidence.1,2

DNM Disposición 3446/2023 Articles 1 and 2 set the minimum at five full-time monthly minimum wages. The wage from October 1, 2026 is US$257.88 (ARS 391,200). Five wages equal US$1,289.39 (ARS 1,956,000). This is an immigration income threshold, not a household spending estimate.3,4,8

Dollar amounts use ARS 1,517 per U.S. dollar, the BCRA quotation dated October 9, 2026. Bank, card and cash exchange rates can differ.8

Ordinary housing and care

Ask the provider about your treatment, residence documents, coverage and payment. Mendoza's emergency access protection does not make every later service free. Read the access and billing rules.5,6,9

The listed homes are ordinary rentals, not care institutions. Inspect the full entrance and bathroom, then check recent bills, heating and internet. Price care and travel separately. No complete household budget is supplied.7,10,11

Questions people ask

Does meeting the pensionado threshold prove I can afford Maipú?

No. Five wages is an immigration income requirement. Price the actual monthly home, bills, food, care and travel separately.

Can paid remote work qualify as rentista income?

The current rentista service excludes remuneration for personal work. Check the category that fits your actual income source.

How should I check an ordinary home for access?

Inspect the entrance, steps, sleeping room, full bathroom and heating controls. Try the daily journeys with your actual equipment and assistance.
