The short answer

Moving a dog or cat to Capilla del Monte requires veterinary entry documents and local arrangements. SENASA sets certificate, vaccination and treatment conditions. Capilla's May 2026 ordinance authorizes a budget-dependent spay and neuter contribution system, but current appointments have not been confirmed. Arrange the lease's pet clause, carrier permission and veterinary care before arrival. Regional Los Terrones publishes a no-pet rule.

  • Entry documents. SENASA conditions. Actual itinerary matters.
  • Municipal base ceiling. 20 per month. Authorization, delivery unverified.
  • Before moving. Schedule the veterinary documents and obtain the landlord's signed pet clause. Arrange carrier permission and local veterinary care before arrival.
  • Next step. Plan certificate, rabies and antiparasitic steps for the actual itinerary.

Arrange documents, permission and care

Entry needs official veterinary documentation

SENASA requires an international veterinary certificate [CVI] or a validated official pet passport for domestic dogs and cats entering Argentina. The origin or departure country's veterinary authority must issue, sign and stamp the CVI, with Spanish among its languages. An official passport needs the required health information and official endorsement before departure. Rabies vaccination and certified exceptions still apply. Check airline and return-country rules separately.1

Schedule certificates and treatments

SENASA requires the health certificate within ten days before CVI issuance. Antiparasitic treatment must fall within fifteen days before CVI issuance or official passport endorsement. A first rabies vaccination must precede entry by at least twenty-one days. Under-three-month and rabies-free-origin exceptions require official certification. Schedule the steps with the issuing authority for your itinerary.1

Ask about spay and neuter support

Capilla Ordinance 3360/26, Articles 2 to 5 authorizes agreements with veterinarians for spay and neuter procedures. Subject to budget, the municipality may cover professional fees for up to 20 procedures per month, charging owners a contribution of up to 50 percent of service cost. Implementation rules are required. The May 2026 authorization does not confirm current appointments or prices. Ask the municipality whether the program is operating and who qualifies.2

Get a signed pet clause

Larrahona advertises a Las Flores two-bedroom house at US$494 (ARS 750,000) per month. It describes two floors and a garage. The garden description mentions families and pets, but permission still needs a signed lease clause. Inspect the stairs and rooms, then confirm the occupants and lease terms with the agent.3,4

These five advertisements are individual listings, not average rents for Capilla del Monte. Contact the agent to check availability and whether the landlord accepts your household, guarantors and pets. Compare the written terms and inspect the home before paying. A lower rent will not solve an unsuitable layout or cover bills excluded from the lease.

Arrange veterinary care and transport

Local veterinary appointments, emergency hours, prices and carrier pet permission have not been confirmed. Arrange care and ask each carrier about your pet before booking. Obtain the landlord's signed pet clause. Argentina's entry documents do not settle these local arrangements.

Current Capilla bus, taxi and remise fares have not been confirmed. Ask the operator for the full route, transfers and price. Confirm station access, mobility-aid assistance and pet carriage where needed. The regional rail fare does not cover the journey from your door to the destination.

Los Terrones does not allow pets

Los Terrones is a regional attraction outside Capilla's municipal boundary. Municipal tourism publishes a no-pet entry rule and contact 03548 15418914. Confirm current visit conditions with the operator. Arrange care for the animal if you plan to visit without it.5

Before traveling with your pet

  1. Step 1

Plan certificate, rabies and antiparasitic steps for the actual itinerary.

  2. Step 2

Obtain the landlord's signed pet permission and property responsibilities.

  3. Step 3

Ask the actual carrier about pet arrangements before booking.

  4. Step 4

Confirm local veterinary care and municipal program operation separately.

Questions people ask

Which entry document does my dog or cat need?

SENASA requires an international veterinary certificate [CVI] or validated official pet passport. The CVI needs the veterinary authority's issue, signature and stamp, with Spanish among its languages. A passport needs official endorsement before departure. Check vaccination conditions, certified exceptions and carrier rules separately.

When should I schedule the veterinary steps?

Arrange the health certificate within ten days before CVI issuance. Antiparasitic treatment must fall within fifteen days before CVI issuance or official passport endorsement. A first rabies vaccination must precede entry by at least twenty-one days. Confirm the dates with the issuing authority.

How can I ask about municipal spay or neuter appointments?

Contact the municipality about the operating program, eligibility and booking. The ordinance authorizes a budget-dependent base ceiling of twenty procedures, but current appointments have not been confirmed.

How much could I pay for a municipal spay or neuter procedure?

Article 3 permits an owner contribution of up to fifty percent of the service cost within the budget-dependent system. Ask the municipality whether the program is operating, who qualifies and what you would pay.

How can I rent the Las Flores house with a dog?

Tell the agent about the dog and obtain a signed pet clause. The garden description alone does not settle permission.

Can I take a pet to Los Terrones?

Municipal tourism publishes a no-pet rule for the regional attraction. Confirm current conditions with the operator before planning a visit.
