Barra Grande relocation guide

Moving to Barra Grande with children

Let the school day decide the address.

The short answer

A family move to Barra Grande starts with the child's actual school place and daily journey. The municipality names three local schools in a director appointment decree. Those names give you real leads, but they do not establish the grades or places available now. Speak with the school before choosing a house, then test the route with your child and the transport you intend to use.

Three named municipal schools provide a starting point.
Confirm the offered grade and admission process directly.
Boat child rules depend on the seller.

The decree is dated September 11, 2025 and appoints school leaders. It is not an enrollment directory. Ask the municipality for the current school contact through 73 3258-2131, 73 3258-2116 or contato@marau.ba.gov.br. These are general administrative contacts.^1,4,10

Match the school to your child

Ask the school for its document checklist, including foreign transcripts and any required translation.
Discuss Portuguese support and any individual learning or care needs.
Confirm the actual school-day times and who handles collection.
Walk the entrance route and ask how rain changes it.

Do not treat the school names as evidence of bilingual teaching or an international curriculum. Get that answer from the school if it is a condition of your move.

Use the right child policy

Camamu Adventure advertises free crossings for children up to two. The association tickets sold by Maraú Travel advertise free travel for children five or younger. Confirm the ages and boarding arrangements with your chosen seller. Bring the child's age and any stroller or support needs into that conversation.^2,7,8

Denada's family bungalows have two stories. Ask about stairs, beds and pool access before booking. The site excludes pets, which matters if the family arrives with an animal. Ground floor elsewhere on the site does not establish a complete step-free route.^3,5

Keep the child's care plan and the boat arrangements alongside the school decision.
