Getting around Alter do Chão

Santarém's US$0.96 (R$4.80) urban fare is a different category. The decree's annex gives the rounded Alter do Chão full fare as US$1.18 (R$5.90) and student fare as US$0.39 (R$1.95). Use the district row rather than applying the urban fare or recalculating the published student amount.¹

For a planning example, 22 days with two full-fare rides a day produce 44 rides. At US$1.18 (R$5.90) each, that is US$52 (R$259.60). It excludes other buses, taxis and trips, and it does not establish a complete household transport budget.^1,4

The September 15, 2026 Sairé notice described five regular Alter buses and an approximate 30 to 35 minute interval. It also announced 20 extra vehicles for selected festival dates, with a different central Santarém route and potentially shorter waits. Those extras ended with the dated event. They do not establish an ordinary late return.²

The same notice lists cash, Pix and Startec electronic cards as payment options. Confirm the current ordinary boarding point, payment and last service with the operator or SMT before traveling. Do not assume a temporary vehicle's route or 10 minute interval applies today.²

Aena lists the airport's special taxi cooperative in the passenger terminal, operating 24 hours. Its published number is (93) 99199-9742. Ask for an Alter do Chão quote, the exact destination, luggage arrangements and payment method before the trip. No current taxi fare or fixed journey time was established here.³

Municipal tourism places Alter about 37 kilometers from Santarém's urban area. That is geographic context, rather than an airport distance or door-to-door travel time. Give the actual home entrance when arranging pickup or arrival.⁵

Use home locations and rent to resolve the address first. Try the school journey or care trip at the actual times needed.^6,7,8
