The short answer
Yerba Buena offers several school starting points, but the child's year and support needs should lead the inquiry. San Patricio teaches English as a second language and has separate campus addresses. Public-school examples appear in the national establishment register. Ask each school about placement, documents, the school day and language support before comparing the route from a rental.
- San Patricio teaches English as a second language from age three.
- Its June 2026 announcement confirms Primary Years Programme authorization.
- The IB directory distinguishes primary English and Spanish from the Diploma's Spanish instruction.
- A register entry or admission notice does not confirm a current place.

Separate English teaching from program language
San Patricio says it offers initial education from age three, primary and secondary stages, with English as a second language beginning at age three. That description does not mean every subject is taught in English. Ask about the child's actual timetable, Spanish support and assessment language.1
The school announced Primary Years Programme authorization on June 4, 2026. Its older general pages still describe candidacy. The official IB directory lists Primary Years instruction in English and Spanish, with authorization from May 20, 2026. It lists the Diploma Programme from January 15, 1988, with Spanish as the language of instruction.2,
Ask which program and year group your child would enter. Program authorization does not establish a place, subject availability or the support required for a child arriving from another school system.1,
