The short answer

Describe the animal to the owner and put permission in the rental agreement. Inspect gates, boundaries and the space it will use, then confirm the vehicle or carrier rules. Arrange regular veterinary care and ask municipal Zoonosis about its current services. For a dog or cat entering Argentina, prepare SENASA's documents around the animal's actual travel date.

  • Get written permission for the actual animal.
  • Confirm transport and regular veterinary care.
  • Prepare SENASA documents with their own dates.

Dogs and cats entering Argentina

SENASA requires the applicable veterinary entry documentation, including the international veterinary certificate or accepted passport arrangements and required health and rabies information. Check the requirements for the animal's age, origin and travel date with SENASA and the issuing veterinarian.1

The health certificate must be issued within ten days before CVI issuance. Internal and external antiparasitic treatment must fall within fifteen days before CVI issuance or official passport endorsement. A first rabies vaccination must precede entry by at least twenty-one days. Ask the veterinarian to confirm the animal-specific timetable.1

Keep the permissions with the right booking

Keep the animal's home permission with the lease and the carrier confirmation with the travel arrangement. Put the veterinary dates into the move sequence so they remain distinct from the keys date.

Questions people ask

Does a rural house automatically permit an animal?

Get written permission for your animal before paying, including any deposit or restrictions. Inspect the actual gates, fencing and space.

Does the Zoonosis listing establish emergency veterinary care?

Ask about the office's actual services and current appointment process. Arrange a separate urgent-care plan and regular veterinary contact for the animal.

Can one travel date settle every veterinary document date?

SENASA requirements use separate dates for the examination, treatments, rabies and certificate arrangements. Confirm the full timetable with the issuing veterinarian.

Does a SENASA certificate guarantee transport permission?

Ask the operator about the animal, carrier, handling and booking rules separately. Entry documents do not settle those conditions.
